Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that uses hypnosis to help treat certain conditions, or change habits or behaviours. During a hypnotherapy session, I will lead you into a deeply relaxed state (known as trance or hypnosis) and use different methods to help you achieve your goals.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a type of ‘talking therapy’, that combines the use of psychotherapy with hypnosis. As a modern psychotherapeutic approach, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses practical, structured, and well-researched strategies to help people make significant, positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time. Crucially, in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, therapists look at what the client wants to achieve (the solution) rather than at whatever prompted them to seek help (the problem).
Hypnosis or ‘trance’ is a very natural, relaxing state, encouraged by using guided relaxation, where the mind can relax and then focus on thoughts and suggestions that might be useful.
You go in and out of trance naturally everyday. You can go into a hypnotic state running, watching the television, reading a book, day dreaming etc. Do you sometimes lose track of what is happening around you? Well that’s trance.
Hypnosis enables us to access the subconscious mind where our behaviours are stored. When you are in trance this helps you focus your mind so you can choose to accept positive suggestions to help you achieve a behavioural change or outcome. You are fully in control when under hypnosis and you will be aware of what is happening.
Hypnotherapy is not a quick fix or a magic wand, though. Results may vary and can be immediate for some issues and people, but not for others. Most issues take time and commitment to change. Are you ready for your next step?
